1. Summary
Photos stay on your iPhone. With your permission, BabyTimeline uses read-only access to the system Photos library to identify and organize baby photos on device. We do not upload originals or face embeddings to our servers.
No account and no cloud album sync. Timeline data, captions, favorites, and indexes are stored locally (e.g. SwiftData / App Group container on device).
Core features do not make business network requests. Scan, identify, dedupe, timeline, PDF keepsake, and related features run on-device.
You can clear local indexes and thumbnail caches anytime (in Profile), without deleting originals in Apple Photos.
2. Information we process
2.1 System Photos library
After you grant access, the app may read photo metadata and image content on device to:
Identify / cluster baby-related photos locally;
Compute month-age from capture dates and build a timeline;
Dedupe similar bursts and export keepsake PDFs / collages;
Cache thumbnails locally for smooth browsing (clearable).
We do not copy your originals to a developer cloud. Exported PDFs/images leave the device only when you save them or share via the system Share Sheet.
2.2 Information you enter in the app
Baby nickname, birth date, and similar profile fields;
Cover titles, captions, milestones, favorites;
Sample-photo selections used for organizing.
These stay on device and are used to power the timeline and keepsake features.
2.3 What we do not collect
No required email / phone account registration;
No contacts or location tracking for profiling;
No advertising or tracking SDKs;
No upload of face feature databases to developer servers.
Improve browsing performance via local thumbnail and index caches;
Complete exports and system shares you initiate;
Meet App Store privacy disclosure requirements and respond to privacy inquiries.
4. Storage, retention & security
Where: Only on your iPhone (app sandbox / App Group local container).
How long: Until you clear app data, uninstall the app, or use in-app “clear local index” actions.
Security: We rely on iOS sandboxing and system permissions; we do not operate a photo cloud that could be breached on our side.
Originals in Photos: Always managed by Apple Photos. Clearing our caches does not delete system library originals (slim-down tips are suggestions only).
5. Sharing, third parties & transfers
We do not sell your photos or baby profile data.
5.1 System Share Sheet
When you share a PDF or collage, the destination app (Messages, Files, a print service, etc.) processes the content under that app’s privacy policy. Sharing is always initiated by you.
5.2 Apple & in-app purchases
If you buy the one-time unlock, payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s processing is governed by the
Apple Privacy Policy.
5.3 No developer cloud sync
This app does not provide developer-operated cloud album sync, so we do not transfer album content to our own servers abroad.
6. Children & parent users
BabyTimeline is intended for parents / guardians organizing family baby photos. It is not a social product for children to use on their own. Photos may depict minors; processing remains on-device. Please keep device unlock and Photos permissions under adult control.
We do not knowingly solicit online contact information from children through this app.
7. Your controls
Revoke or change Photos access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos;
Clear local index / caches in the app’s Profile area;
Uninstall the app to remove sandbox data;

8. In-app purchase (“lifetime unlock”)
The app offers an optional one-time non-consumable unlock for full dedupe, full PDF export, and related premium capabilities. Free features remain usable on device. Purchase status is tied to your Apple ID; use Restore Purchases if needed.
Payment details are handled by Apple. Purchasing does not grant us permission to upload your photo library.
